Meetings are
tricky. The success of an entire project often depends on a single
event. Moreover, in today’s global organizations, diversity and
complexity compound the difficulty of getting it right. And you may only
have one shot at it. |
|
|
|
You know
you need representatives from different countries or different functional
units. You know you need sponsors, project leaders, gatekeepers and the
specialists who will get the job done. But you don’t know how to
anticipate what will happen when you get them all together. We can
help. |

Here are critical
success factors for meeting success:
 |
Clarifying
and communicating meeting purpose(s) |
 |
Getting
the right people in the room, getting requisite diversity |
 |
Managing
group dynamics (e.g., organizational rank, cultural differences) to
ensure it’s safe for people to disagree |
 |
Having
credible facilitation and a transparent, robust-yet-flexible meeting
process |
 |
Creating
an environment free from distractions |
 |
Eliciting
adequate data to make a quality decision, managing volume of data |
 |
Securing
impassioned buy-in from attendees |
 |
Taking
responsibility for action and ensuring accountability for following
through |

Consultation on
key event planning usually takes at least one half day or more, depending
on the scope and critical nature of the meeting. Working jointly, we will
help you identify desired criteria for a facilitator and whether it would
be appropriate for Inflection Points to facilitate your meeting or someone
from your own organization. We can also help in logistics and support
(e.g., securing venues, contracting for catering, getting the right
audiovisual equipment, or helping prepare handouts or a PowerPoint
presentation).
